Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject carbon black having a colloidal metal compound stuck from a suspended state on surface thereof, high in tensile strength, good in dispersibility, and useful for a tire, etc. SOLUTION: This surface modified carbon black has a colloidal (A) at least one of a metal oxide, a metal oxyoxide and a metal hydroxide stuck from a suspended state, and preferably (B) sulfur or a compound containing sulfur fixed or bonded with the above stuck substance on surface thereof. Further, it is preferable that the metal constituting the component (A) is Fe, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn, etc., and that in order to obtain the above carbon black, e.g. at first a metal salt is dissolved, a liquid in which the colloidal metal compound of the component (A) is suspended, is prepared by heating, etc., and then a carbon black is immersed into the liquid. |
