Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the zinc alkaline battery low in pollution, high in performance and safe, which employs non-amalgamated and lead-free zinc alloy powder. SOLUTION: A zinc alkaline battery includes non-amalgamated and lead free zinc alloy powder as negative electrode active material, which includes at least more than one kind of element equivalent to 0.001 to 0.05% elements in total by weight selected out of a group composed of at most 0.01% indium by weight, 0.001 to 0.01% aluminum by weight, 0.001 to 0.01% bismuth by weight, 0.001 to 0.05% manganese by weight, lithium, sodium and pottasium. Furthermore, the battery includes a gelatinous negative electrode to which 0.005 to 0.5% indium compounds by weight equivalent to indium conversion, is added as corrosion preventive agent for zinc alloy powder. By this constitution, the zinc alkaline battery is non-amalgamated and lead free, furthermore, it generates gas less than it does when non-amalgamated and lead-free zinc alloy powder is used, and it is thereby safe, and high in performance. |
