Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can form right images excellent in operating stability. SOLUTION: This electron emitter has in an insulating base 1a conductive film 4, on at least a portion of which an electron emitting part 5 is formed. In the case, the conductive thin film 4 is covered with a tungsten film 6, and the tungsten film 6 is selectively deposited by causing hexacarbonyl tungsten gas to selectively absorb onto the conductive thin film 4, and achieving nucleation thereafter through irradiation.
