MUFFLER STRUCTURE FOR EXHAUST PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a spacer of complicated form for forming a clearance in a muffler having an outer cylinder mounted on the outside of an inner cylinder with the clearance through which running wind passes by providing a plurality of protruding part on the circumferential surface of the inner cylinder, and bringing the inside surface of the outer cylinder into contact with the protruding parts. SOLUTION: A muffler 50 suitably used in motorcycle is formed of an inner cylinder 51, a front plate 53 for closing the front end of the inner cylinder 51, a rear plate 54 for closing the rear end of the inner cylinder 51, a tail pipe inserted to the center of the rear plate 54, an outer cylinder mounted on the outside of the inner cylinder 51 with a space, and a metal hanger 57 welded to the inner cylinder 51. The inner cylinder 51 has a plurality of protruding parts 51a... on each circumference of three positions of front end, center part and rear end, and the outer cylinder 56 is arranged in the state contacting the protruding parts 51a... of the inner cylinder 51, whereby an annular clearance can be formed with the inner cylinder 51. Thus, a spacer of complicated form for forming the clearance is dispensed with.
