CHUCK MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck used for a both end cutting machine with simple mechanism wherein the chuck can clump a work in rotatable state so as to facilitate cutting both end of the work. SOLUTION: A movable body 3 can be moved toward axial direction by supplying compressed air through an air supplying tube 14 provided between a cap 13 and the movable body 3. A tapered ring 18 is urged to the axial direction by a pushing portion 4 mounted on the movable body 3 through a bearing 9. The urged tapered ring 18 urges a spherical body 5 toward a work 19 along the taper of the tapered ring 18, causing the work to be clumped. Fixing the a fixed body 1 to the rotor 2, to clamp the work 19 through bearings 10 and 11, the rotor 2 is rotated by a motor through a pulley 16 and a belt 17. Cutting tools 15 are radially moved toward the work 19 so that both end of the work 19 are cut so that the work 19 is finished in specified size.
