CHARACTER SELECTION METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the selection efficiency for characters and also to suppress the induction of selection mistakes of characters. SOLUTION: A radical list screen is displayed on a monitor 6, and the divided areas are assigned to these radicals. The pages of KANJI (Chinese character) string screens are corresponding to those divided areas on a table stored in a ROM 3. When a desired radical is selected via an input operation part 5, and the page of the KANJI string screen including the selected radical is displayed on the monitor 6 via a selected radical decision means 13 and a selected radical-KANJI screen page decision means 14. One of displayed KANJI is selected via the part 5.
