CARRIER CONTAINING IMMOBILIZED ENZYME AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To produce a carrier containing an immobilized enzyme useful for hydrolyzing a raw material oil and fat such as a vegetable oil or an animal oil by treating an inorganic carrier with a silane coupling agent having N- phenylamino group in an organic functional group, immobilizing an oil and fat hydrolase on the treated carrier and then impregnating the resultant carrier with a fatty acid. CONSTITUTION: A substance having hydroxyl or oxide groups reactive with a silicon functional group in a silane coupling agent such as silica, glass or alumina silicate is used as an inorganic carrier and the carrier is then treated with a silane coupling agent having N-phenylamino group as an organic functional group. A lipase which is an oil and fat hydrolase is subsequently added to the treated carrier and immobilized thereon. The prepared carrier is then impregnated with a fatty acid produced from a raw material oil and fat such as oleic or stearic acid to afford the objective carrier containing the immobilized enzyme capable of being brought into contact with a vegetable oil such as olive oil, palm oil or soybean oil and/or an animal oil such as beef tallow or a fish fat and producing a fatty acid by hydrolytic reaction.
