Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a favorable damping device for indoor installation as being capable of easily doing maintenance work for a driving system and reducing its height. SOLUTION: A vibration control device 1 has a base 3 fixed to a structure, a movable mass 5 arranged on the base 3 in a movable manner, a driving system 7 to drive the movable mass 5, a control system 9 to control the driving system 7, a coil spring 11 provided between the base 3 and the movable mass 5 and an oil damper 13 provided between the base 3 and the movable mass 5. The driving system 7 consists of a columnar rotor 3102 arranged to be extended to the moving direction of the movable mass 5 and a stator 3101 working together with the columnar rotor 3102 in the state of non-contacting the columnar rotor 3102. The stator 3101 is fitted into a recess 501 on the upper face of the movable mass 5 and the columnar rotor 3102 has one end connected to the base 3.
