Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a caticn-exchange polymer which is strongly acidic and excellent in stability, and has a new cation-exchange group different from conventional cation-exchange groups by forming one with a specified molecular structure. SOLUTION: This polymer has a cation-exchange group represented by formula I (wherein A is a group of formula II or III; R1 and R2 are each an alkyl; R3 is H or an alkyl; R4 is methylene or O; and (n) is 0 or 1) or formula IV (wherein R5 , R6 , R7 and R8 are each an alkyl; R9 and R10 are each methylene or O; and A and (n) are as defined above).
