Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backing metal of non-scallop welding and to provide a method to easily produce it, which can execute tack-welding of a specified length at a specified position. SOLUTION: In a backing metal of non-scallop welding used in welding an H-steel onto the other member without installing a scallop, a curve face 5 of R as same as the R of the fillet part of the H steel is installed on one side, at least, of side faces of the short side of a rectangular body of a prescribed length, width and thickness, on one side, at least, of the front face and the back face, a scale is marked parallel to the curve face 5 and in a specified interval.
