Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for visually checking the state or the volume of foreign matters such as sand, waste or the like contained in the seawater stayed in a filter for seawater for cooling an engine of a ship without deteriorating strength and safety of the device. SOLUTION: This filter has a filter net 5 between an entry through hole and an exit through hole and a triple structure covering cylinder comprising a glass-made or acrylic-made transparent cylinder 3 having a packing for sealing fluid, a main body 2 which is made strong material such as metal or reinforced plastic and has several or more window holes 6 on the periphery thereof and is integral with the body base, and a soft cushion member 4 which has a shape not interfering with a visual check of the inside through the window holes 5 of the main body 2 and is tightly inserted into a gap between the transparent cylinder 3 and the main body 2.
