Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary variable resistor which produces no play in a control or knob of the resistor and no irregularity in rotary torque of the control even when the control is repetitively rotated, and thus whose operating part can have a long service life with user's comfortable use. SOLUTION: In the variable resistor, a bearing 15 is mounted as engaged in a through hole of a board 11 in a snap-in relationship therewith and a rotary shaft 18 of a control 17 is mounted as engaged in a hole of the bearing 15 in a snap-in relationship therewith. Thus since the rotary shaft 18 is rotated inside of the bearing 15, its rotary life characteristic can be prolonged. Further, since an anti-slip-out member 20 is mounted to an engagement member 18a at a tip end of the rotary shaft as guided by a positioning projection of a rotor 19, a problem of shaft play can be eliminated.
