Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten and automize a casting preparing work by executing the shift of short side plates in a mold at the speed and the torque as low as possible and controlling a gap distance with a dummy bar head at the time of stopping the shifting. SOLUTION: Firstly, at the time of shifting the short side plates 1 in the mold, a mold 3 for changing the mold width is set at the low speed and the low torque and brought into contact with the dummy bar head 9 by using a screw shaft 2. Since the motor 3 receives the torque limit by this contacting, the motor is immediately stopped and an angle signal 4 is stopped, too. At the same time of this movement, an output command to a driving control device 6 is stopped and the electrically present position at this time is made to the dummy bar head width. Successively, the gap distance α between the short side plate 1 in the mold and the dummy bar head 9 is outputted to the driving control device 6 from a controller 7, and the short side plates 1 in the mold is retreated and made to the condition at the time of completing the movement.
