CUSHION COVER FOR ROAD END SUPPORT COLUMN OF PROTECTION FENCE ON ROAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance absorption of energy to thereby restrain generation of damage of vehicle upon collision by attaching a pressure receiving plate made of rigid body to a core made of foaming polyurethane having a recessed part and four round cornes in section, and applying an covering material thereonto. SOLUTION: This cover is applied onto end support 9' of protection fence on road for laying lateral members 6 of such as guide rail, between erected coins along a road side. In a core 2 a recess 5 in which the support column 9' is fitted is formed at an eccentric position, and the cushion cover on the road side is arranged to protrude from the support 9' more than the reverse side thereof. The destruction of core 2 is increased in comparison with the conventional type formed such that the recess is positioned at the center, and energy absorption is improved accordingly. The core 2 is formed upside down with its contour being symmetrical right and left except the position of the recess 5, whereby by use of one kind thereof the relative quantity of core on the side of road is made larger than the column 9' irrespective of the left and light installation thereof on road.
