METHOD FOR PREVENTING BENDING OF BILLET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the downward bending of a billet at the time of laying the billet to a short supporting table by laying the forcedly cooled billet on specific shaped skids, warping upward both ends of the billet by gravity and plastically deforming it in a bow shape. SOLUTION: The neiborhoods of both end parts of the billet B after forcedly cooling are laid on the skids 1 and billet B is plastically deformed by gravity and formed into a bow shape low at the center part ad high at the both side parts. At this time, the skids 1, in which the height of the skid at the center part is lower than the height of the skids at both sides, is used and them, the both side parts of the billet B are warped upward and the billet is semi-forcedly formed into the bow shape while following to the curvature of the skids 1. At the time of laying this billet B in a pallet 2 having shorter than the billet B length, parts stuck out from the pallet 2 are plastically deformed by gravity, and the parts warped upward are descended and mutually strengthened on the straight line.
