Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst for exhaust gas purification which has high NOx purification efficiency in an oxidative atmosphere and to provide a method for the same. SOLUTION: A catalyst is composed of a carrier which contains at least one kind of M3 Al2 O6 (M is alkaline earth metal), a NOx absorbent of at least one kind of alkaline earth metal supported on a carrier, and noble of at least one kind of Pt, Pd and Rh supported on the carrier. Since no chemical reaction takes place between the carrier and the NOx absorbent even when exposed to high temperature of 800 deg.C or more, the catalyst, has high NOx purification efficiency at high temperatures. |
