Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge preventing transformer for a signal cable which prevents breakage of a semiconductor device due to surge and which can be inserted even in the middle of a communication line without causing impedance mismatch. SOLUTION: A primary and secondary coils, made of a high withstand voltage wire and the same in number, are formed around a ferrite core 1. The primary and secondary coils are respectively connected to connectors 5 and 6. A surge blocking transformer 16 is detachably attached between one end of a signal cable and a communication terminal device. A surge absorber is provided at the previous stage of the surge blocking transformer 16.
