SHIFT STOPPER DEVICE OF FOUR-SPEED TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift stopper device which allows modification to four- speed transmission from a five-speed transmission without change of the shapes of major components. SOLUTION: A shift operation mechanism is structured so that five speed positions and a reverse position are arranged on the same operating line, and a reverse shift arm 45 is swung in the Reverse direction by turning a shift head 37 fixed to a shift shaft for reversing 32 to the reverse direction, and the reverse position is established when the reverse shift arm 45 moves a reverse idler gear to the reverse meshing position. On a reverse shift arm bracket 47, a stopper member 51 is mounted which has the first stopper surface 50a to make turn stop of the shift head 37 in the direction opposite the engaging direction with the reverse shift arm 45 and the second stopper surface 50b to restrict the shift motion of the shift head 37 in the direction opposite the Reverse direction.
