Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of the equipment and to markedly reduce investment in plant and equipment in a method for storing a city gas based on a natural gas by liquefaction and a method and apparatus for regasifying the liquefied gas. SOLUTION: Cold storage tanks 2...2n packed with cold storage agents 3...3n having different freezing points are arranged in order of decreasing freezing temperatures, a city gas bypassed from a high-pressure headline 1 during off peak is liquefied by cooling it in stages by leading it sequentially into the tanks 2...2n, and the liquefied gas is stored in a storage tank 12 for a while. At the time of peak, the liquefied gas is regasified by allowing it to flow along the reversal route, and the gas is returned into the high-pressure headline 1.
