SKIN WHITENING COSMETIC COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition containing, as active ingredients, plant extracts, excellent in safety and stability, and having high skin whitening effect. SOLUTION: This skin whitening cosmetic composition contains, as active ingredients, >=0.0001wt.% of plant extracts A, B and C, namely: (A) bark of Morus bombycis extract derived from the root bark of mulberry, (B) licorice extract derived from the root of Lagminosae plant as a kind of perennial plant, and (C) at least one kind of extract selected from those derived from scutellariae radix as the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis belonging to Labiatae, sophora flower as the dried bud of sophora belonging to Lagminosae, peach blossom as the dried bud of peach belonging to Rosaceae, dried daphne flower belonging to Daphne odora, and sophorae radix as the dried root of Sophora angustifolia belonging to Lagminosae. The weight ratio A:B:C is (1-5):(1-5):(1-5), pref. 1:1:1. In this cosmetic composition, use of a combination of three or more kinds of the above-mentioned highly safe extracts derived from readily available specific plants enhances skin whitening effect synergistically.
