Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the flash of a weld bead and to automate a series of joining work. SOLUTION: The end surfaces of a previous billet B1 and a following billet B2 are abutted and a pair of end mills 4a, 4b whose interval is narrower than the diameter of the billets B1 , B2 , are vertically shifted. Thereby, both end edges in the abutted surfaces of the billets B1 , B2 are grooved in the vertical direction to form a pair of a groove and thereafter, the welding is executed downward along the bottom end of the groove.
