PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the equipment to confirm it that image information reaches the operator of a destination by discriminating whether or not an image received in a memory box is outputted thereby generating a reception confirmation report and sending the report to a sender automatically. SOLUTION: A transmitter side facsimile equipment (station A) designates a memory box number and sends a telephone number of the station A thereto, A receiver side facsimile equipment (station B) stores the received image to the memory box and allows a management memory section 7 to store the telephone number of the station A. When an image is outputted by the operation of the operator of the station B, a CG(character generator) section 11 generates an image reception confirmation report. The confirmation report is converted into an image code and stored in a transmission area generated in an image memory section 6. Then the station B makes a call to the telephone number of the station A automatically and sends the stored report to the station A. The station A receives the report and prints it out.
