PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy without wasting boiling or heat insulation by boiling water in a vessel through a vessel washing mode executing means when a user selects a washing mode selecting means, afterwards, holding the water at any temperature near boiling for prescribed time and turning off a heater later. SOLUTION: When incrustation or dirt in a vessel 3 gets conspicuous, the user inserts water up to specified volume, puts lemon water or citric acid into the water and pushes a cleaning key 9. When the cleaning key 9 is turned on, a main heater 5 in turned on. Thus, water in the vessel 3 is heated. It is judged whether or not a temperature TF detected by a temperature sensor 7 exceeds 100 deg.C. When the temperature exceeds 100 deg.C, boiling is detected and the main heater 5 is turned off. Next, the counting of time is started by a timer 11. The temperature of hot water in the vessel 3 is kept at 100 deg.C for the lapse of one hour. During this heat insulation, the incrustation or dirt stuck on the walls of the vessel is removed.
