Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission equipment high in space efficiency and capable of constituting the system low in cost by receiving an optical signal from an optical transmitter from plural incoming transmitters with one incoming optical receiver in the case of making a trunk transmission line of a CATV into an optical configuration. SOLUTION: In the rack mount type optical transmission equipment, 1st and 2nd incoming optical reception circuits 22, 35 and a status monitor circuit for monitoring a state of the circuits are formed in one incoming reception unit and a DC voltage for driving each circuit is applied via a changeover switch 1 respectively. Thus, the changeover switch 1 on an operation panel is used to activate only the incoming optical reception circuit corresponding to an incoming optical line and only a status monitor circuit for monitoring the circuit and two incoming optical transmitters at maximum are combined with the incoming optical reception unit 1 to build up an efficient CATV center.
