Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control structure in which a highly attenuating force can be obtained and a vibration control structure with less structural materials can be constructed, even when the installation space for braces can not be sufficiently obtained and attenuating forces are not enough. SOLUTION: Freely crossing braces 11 are provided in the plane of structure composed of columns 9 and beams 10 in an architectural structure. And an oil damper 1 extensible in the axial direction of the brace is fixed. In the passive vibration control structure with a highly attenuating capacity, a check valve provided in the piston of the oil damper 1 suffering a tensile force in these braces 11, is closed and another check valve provided in the piston of the oil damper 1 suffering a compressive force, is opened owing to the story shear deformation of the architectural structure. When the check valve closes and the hydraulic pressure of the compressive side rises to a specified level, in the oil damper 1, a relief valve relieves the hydraulic pressure and the brace 11 withstands a tensile load larger than a specified value.
