Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blast furnace operating method by quantitatively detecting the distribution and the stability of gas flow in a blast furnace, by which anybody can perform the action of accurate timing, kind and quantity based on the sufficient quantity of direct operational result data of the blast furnace with surface measurement without needing various operational actions according to individual estimation from few operational result data in the blast furnace with a skilled operator. SOLUTION: This operating method for the blast furnace is executed as the following. Furnace top opening part 1 is photographed with an image pickup camera 2 and the stability of gas flow in the blast furnace is detected by the overall evaluation of three indexes, i.e., column of flame diameter at the furnace top opening part, sharped degree of the column of flame at the furnace top opening part and the center position of the column of flame at the furnace top opening part, to execute the stable operation.
