STRAPPING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically obtain a strapped article wherein the upper corner parts of the article and the strapped portions on the upper face thereof are protected, by providing respective feeders for automatically feeding corner pad metals and a pad board to strapping positions when an article is strapped on the way of conveyance by conveyors. SOLUTION: A loaded article W placed on a skid is wound around and tightened with straps at lower beam positions of two places, fore one and rear one, of the skid by a strapping apparatus 1, thereby obtaining a strapped article. In this case, before winding around the loaded article W with the straps, a corner pad metal having an L-shaped sectional shape is fed to each of upper corner parts of the article on the skid, and a pad board is also fed onto the upper face of the article, thereupon the article is strapped together with the pad board and the corner pad metals. That is, a strapping machine 10 is provided, by which the loaded article W to be transferred from a first conveyor 2 to a second conveyor 3 is wound around and tightened with the straps at a portion on a space (n) between both the conveyors. Corner pad metal feeders 60a, 60b are provided on both sides of the conveyor 2, respectively, and a pad board feeder 120 is disposed at a side position of the forward end of the conveyor 2.
