CENTERING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately perform centering work for a disk without needing any skill by covering the disk provided on a table with a jig having a space and supplying a pressure fluid to this space. SOLUTION: A jig 11 is fixed on the upper surface of a table 1. Then, high pressure air is supplied from a supply hole 17 into a space 14. This high pressure air is passed through a gap between the inner surface of the space part 14 and the outer surface of a disk 8 and discharged from a discharge hole 19. If a relationship between the gap C1 of one end side of the disk 8 in its diameter direction and the gap C2 of the other end side is C1>C2, the disk 8 is moved in an arrow direction in the space 14 according to a pressure difference between the gaps C1 and C2. Then, when the gaps C1 and C2 become equal to each other, the movement of the disk 8 in the space 14 in the diameter direction is stopped. Thus, since the center of the disk 8 is made to match with that of the table 1, centering of the disk 8 is finished.
