Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and easily prevent light which is transmitted through an area at the outer periphery of a display area from being reflected by the internal edge wall of the spacer of the liquid crystal display device to mix with light transmitted through the display area when a projected display screen is all in black as to the improvement of the reflection state on the internal edge wall of the spacer. SOLUTION: This device is composed of a light valve 3 sandwiched between a light incidence-side cover 1 and a projection-side cover 2 and the spacer 6 which surrounds the periphery of a space 4 formed between the display area 3a of the light valve and the projection-side cover 2 and cuts off the light transmitted through the area at the outer periphery of the display area 3a. In this case, the internal edge wall 6a of the spacer surrounding the space 4 reduces the light which is reflected by the internal edge wall 6a to mix with the light transmitted through the display area 3a. |
