Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapping screw which has excellent chamfer, and besides, is drivable by small thrust. SOLUTION: A taper screw shaft 3b whose taper angle is set at from 9 deg. to 14 deg. and cross sectional shape is formed into an approximate triangle, is continued to the front part of the screw shaft 3 of a screw main body 1 of which a screw head 2 is formed at the upper end of the screw shaft 3, and also recessed parts 5 are formed to three surfaces 3c formed on the taper screw shaft 3b whose cross sectional shape is formed into the approximate triangle. The recessed parts 5 are formed in such a manner that their rear sides are enlarged more than their front end sides, their surfaces in a screw-in direction are formed to be sloped steeper than opposite side surfaces, and one screw thread end surface is formed into a sheer valley groove shape.
