PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a device, to reduce the number of parts, to lower a cost and to facilitate the exchange of threads. SOLUTION: This sewing machine is composed of a needle exchanging device 1 capable of exchanging a needle root 12 mounted to a needle bar 11, a needle swinging mechanism capable of swinging the needle root between a standby position and the exchange position of the needle root 12 below the needle bar 11, a moving mechanism 3 capable of selecting a needle thread to be used for sewing from the plural needle threads and a thread exchanging mechanism 4 capable of exchanging the unnecessitated needle thread and the needle thread to be sewn from then.
