PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and rapidly grasp a sense of distance even though any of maps having different reduction scales is displayed. SOLUTION: On a road map (block map) having a large reduction scale, an area 403 such as a city area in which roads are complicated and crowded, is indicated by a broken line, and when the present position 402 of a mover moving on a road 406 comes to the area 403, the display is changed over so as to display an enlarged map having a small reduction scale, for indicating details of the area 403. Even on the display of either the block map or the enlarged area map, a mark 411 having a line segment having an equal length on the display screen, and an integer for indicating an actual distance on the block map or the enlarged map are displayed. From the map on which this line segment is displayed, the degree of the distance can be easily known, and accordingly, even though any of maps having different reduction scales is selectively displayed, the sense of distance can be at once grasped.
