Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the required height of the body of a temperature regulating column as necessarily as possible in an attempt to ensure sufficient evaporation of sprayed water by arranging a less quantity of water to be sprayed toward the center side of the column than that to the side of an external wall thereof. SOLUTION: A plurality of spray nozzles 3, four, for instance, are arranged at an equal pitch on the same concentric circle to lower the temperature of an exhaust gas at an upper part of the body 2 of a temperature regulating column which is provided in the course of an exhaust pipeline of the exhaust gas. The quantity of water is so set for each of the spray nozzles 3 that the less amount of water is sprayed toward the center of the body 2 of the column as compared with that to be sprayed toward the side of an external wall thereof 2. As a result, as regard to the total amount of water sprayed in the body 2 of the column, the water can be sprayed almost thoroughly in the body 2 to accomplish an uniform evaporation of the water thereby achieving an efficient cooling of the exhaust gas. This requires a less height of the fall in the water to be sprayed, that is, making it possible to reduce the height of the body 2 of the column as compared with the conventional type. |
