COMPOSITION FOR ORAL CAVITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for oral cavity having high chemical cleaning effect. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by blending >=3wt.% water-soluble pyrophosphoric acid salt, one or more kinds of straight-chain and cyclic water- soluble polyphosphoric acid salts represented by the formula Mn+2 Pn O3n+1 and the formula (MPO3 )m (M is Na or K; (m) and (n) are each >=3) in an amount of 20-100wt.% based on the water-soluble pyrophosphoric acid salt with a composition for oral cavity composed of components not releasing calcium ion and controlling pH of the blend to pH6-10. The composition is prepared into a dentifrice such as a toothpaste, a mouth rinsing agent, a troche, a chewing gum, etc., and used. The composition effectively removes stain of tooth surface, e.g. stain plaque or tobacco tar by chemical action and enables cleaning of a part which tooth brush does not reach and increases beautifying and whitening effect of tooth surface. Further, since the composition has excellent cleaning effect, the composition can reduce blend amount of polisher when dentifrice is prepared.
