Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the discharge of particulate and sulfate contained in an exhaust gas from a diesel engine and improve a HC and CO cleaning rate in a low temperature zone. SOLUTION: This catalyst for cleaning an exhaust gas from a diesel engine is structurally designed so that a heat-resistant inorganic oxide layer containing a catalytic component deposited on a catalyst carrier. In this case, the heat- resistant inorganic oxide layer composed of at least, one type of component selected from among silica, titania and zirconia, and potassium titanate. In addition, the heat-resistant inorganic oxide layer contains at least, one type of catalytic component selected from among platinum, palladium and rhodium.
