Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method which is appropriately used for desalting and concentrating a culture broth to required levels for the next purification process respectively with a membrane having high peptide or protein retentivity, in order to perform the prepurification of a fermentation broth contg. peptides or proteins, in particular, desalting and concentration of the broth. SOLUTION: In this method, a broth is subjected to ultrafiltration with a membrane having a specified separation limit (molecular-weight cutoff value) within the range of 2 to 5 of the molecular weight of peptides or proteins to be retained on the membrane to subject the culture broth contg. peptides or proteins and not contg. bacteria to prepurification.
