Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To copy a large amount of tape at a high speed and to save the time for copying and the power consumption by properly combining the number and arrangement of heads, the diameter of a head drum, tape transfer speed, take-up angle and block for signal processing. SOLUTION: In a head drum with such head arrangement that A head to D head are provided with angular interval relation of 90 deg. and with its diameter of 2, when the number of revolution of the drum is fixed to 1, and the drum diameter and the tape speed are made double, and the take-up angle is made 1/2 (figure 2a), a double-speed copy is possible. Further, when the head arrangement that the drum diameter is 2, and the A head to H head are provided with angular interval relation of 45 deg. is shown (figure d), when the number of revolution of the drum is made double, and the tape speed is made four times, and the take-up angle is made 1/2, a fourfold speed copy is possible. In such a manner, by properly combining the number and the arrangement of the heads, the diameter of the head drum, the tape transfer speed, the take-up angle and the block for the signal processing, the copy required time and power consumption are reduced.
