METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR DISCRIMINATING LEAKAGE OF FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL INJECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine the leakage to the outside caused by the fuel injection valve by controlling one of pressure controlling means at the starting-up of an internal combustion engine such that the pressure is increased to an expected value without an error, and by distinguishing error if the detected pressure value is not reached to the expected value. SOLUTION: At the starting-up of an internal combustion engine, a rail 35 and the pressure in the high pressure section is detected by using a pressure sensor 50, based on the detected value of which, signal for the load of the pressure control valve 40 is calculated by a pressure control means of a controller unit 100, so as to control such that the pressure is increased to an expected value without an error. And, if the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor 50 is not reached to the expected value, it will be determined the occurrence of an error, so that the pressure control valve 40 controls the pressure in the rail 35 to decrease. This allows easy determination of leakage to outside, caused by the fuel injection valve.
