Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct differences in temp. in a peripheral direction with respect to a material to be treated in the upper part of a furnace and to perform nearly perfect soaking. SOLUTION: In this annealing furnace 1, a material 5 to be treated is covered with an inner cover 3 and further this inner cover 3 is covered with an outer cover 4, and combustion is carried out in a combustion chamber 6 between these inner cover 3 and outer cover 4 to heat-treat the material 5 to be treated. A couple of slit-type heat accumulation and regeneration type combustion apparatus 7a, 7b are located in the 180 deg. symmetrical positions on the periphery in the lower part of the outer cover 4 so that vertically flat flames are formed toward the combustion chamber 6 from the tangential direction. Further, a vent hole 8 for releasing a part of the exhaust gas resultant from combustion is formed in a ceiling 4a of the outer cover 4.
