Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve condensing efficiency by improving a structure of a light source device such as a metal halide lamp. SOLUTION: A light source device is composed of a metal halide lamp 2 of a short arc, a lamp reflector 3 to turn the light into a parallel light flux by condensing it, a support cylinder part 4 and an electromagnet 5 arranged in an upper part of a back face part of the lamp reflector. When a line A of magnetic force horizontally orthogonal to the optical axis generated by the electromagnet 5 is impressed on a tubular bulb 6, a discharge arc is corrected in a straight line shape. Since a polarity reversing means is provided on the electromagnet 5, even in a condition where the light source device is inversely erected by 180 degrees, uniform brightness similar to normally erected time can be attained by switching the magnetic field direction to a line B of magnetic force from the line A of magnetic force. |
