RECORDING MEDIUM REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous insertion of a recording medium with a simple constitution at the time of inserting it in a direction different from a normal direction and to reduce a cost by guiding it by side faces, a bottom part and an upper guide. SOLUTION: When an MD 90 is inserted with the side having larger dimension facing the front, both sides of the MD 90 are guided by both side faces 16 and the bottom part 17 of a guide groove 19 and the inner face 12 of an upper guide 11 is guided into a reproducing part. When the MD 90 is inserted with the side having smaller dimension facing the front in a state in which it is brought closer to the side face 16 of the guide groove 19, the left side of the MD 90 drops onto a groove 20 and the top end part of the MD 90 is abutted with the stopper part 18 formed in the forward direction of the groove 20 and is prevented from advancing forward. In this state, the MD 90 can be taken out. Moreover, when the MD 90 is inserted into the middle part of the guide groove 19 with the side having smaller dimension facing the front, the whole of the MD 90 drops onto the groove 20 and then the top end part of the MD 90 is abutted with the stopper part 18 and is prevented from advancing forward. Thus, the erroneous insertion of the recording medium is surely prevented with the simple constitution and also the cost is reduced.
