Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the adjustment of a shaft core with respect to a shaft sealing device of a stern pipe of a shaft system of a ship. SOLUTION: An inner peripheral face and mounting faces C1 , C2 of a stern boss 1 are machined at a factory by matching them with a shaft core (line-of- sight) 5 thereof. Stern tube bearings 12a, 12b machined in the same core are fixed by resin chocks 4a, 4b and mounted on the inner peripheral face of the boss 1, and mounting of them is adjusted by matching them with a center line 16 of the bearings having inclination for the shaft core 5. Since shaft sealing devices 8a, 8b are mounted at both ends of the stern boss 1 by using bolts through distance rings 7a, 7b which are adjusted in finish-machining to adjust deviation of core with the center line 16 of the bearings, the installation by the use of a large machine and machining for adjustment are not required at the site of assembly.
