Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable good thermal molding not generating a trouble such as distortion or expansion by deburring and polishing the surface to be rubbed of a molded product obtained by thermal mold processing. SOLUTION: A friction material matrix obtained by homogenously mixing various almost powdery or granular constitutional components is subjected to compression molding so as to have a predetermined dimension/shape (Step 101). Next, this preformed product is put in a thermoplastic mold together with a backing metal to be bonded to the preformed product and subjected to predetermined thermal molding processing to be finally molded into a predetermined dimension/shape (Step 102). Subsequently, this final molded product is subjected to treatment such as surface polishing for removing molding burr, eliminating a black skin surface or enhancing surface flatness. Next, the molded product is grasped under definite pressure by a heating jig for the purpose of homogenizing the interior of the final molded product to be heated under a predetermined condition (Step 104). Further, the heated molded product is cooled to a predetermined temp. (Step 105) and, if necessary, a redetermined finish treatment is performed (Step 106). By this constitution, a friction material having a desired dimension/shape is obtained. |
