DEVICE FOR SHAPING COIL OF WIRE OR STILL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for shaping a coil capable of automatically correcting a disturbed wire or steel strip in the inside diameter part of the coil of wire or steel strip and automatically correcting it even when the shape of the coil is not complete round. SOLUTION: Several arms 4 which are arranged around a sliding shaft 3 are expanded and contracted utilizing connecting links 5, guides 7, 8 for expanding and contracting each arm 4 only in the direction orthoganally crossed with the axial direction of the sliding shaft are provided, rubbing at the contact points with the arm 4, the wire, or the like is prevented and a spring 10 is interposed between a guide element 9 for guiding along the guides 7, 8 and the arms 4. Then, only when load over a specified value is applied to the arm 4, the arm 4 is made so as to move in the axial direction of the sliding shaft 3 and, when the inside diameter of the coil of wire is an elliptic shape, or even when offset is present between the sliding shaft and the axial center of the coil, the correction of the angularity of the coil is easily executed.
