ILLUMINATION DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide an illumination device wherein the number of photodetection sections is reduced by illuminating a plurality of positions by a single photodetection section so that a photoconductor is simplified and the designing of an optical path of the photoconductor is facilitated. CONSTITUTION: In the device, a pointer axle penetrates the central section of a roughly square dial plate 1 and a pointer made of a photoconductive member and a liquid crystal display device 6 for an electronic odometer are provided on the front face thereof. A photoconductor 7 is provided on the rear face of the dial plate 1. A photodetection section 7d that introduces a light from a light source 8, an illumination surface 7f that illuminates the liquid crystal display device 6 and a reflection section 7g that illuminates the pointer are formed in the photoconductor 7 dividedly in the thickness direction. The photodetection section 7d is commonly used and the optical passage is partially shared for illuminating the illumination surface 7f and reflection section 7g.
