DOOR FOR MACHINE TOOL

PURPOSE: To prevent a guide rail and drive body of a door from projecting out of both sides of a machine tool by providing the drive body to move a door body along the guide rail on a movable body or the guide rail. CONSTITUTION: During the cutting work of a wheel W, a head stock 2 is located in the advance position so that a piston rod 10a of a cylinder 10 is extended to have an end of a door body abutting against a stopper or the like and close the left and right door bodies 7, 7. When the working of the wheel W is completed between spindles 3, 3, the spindles 3, 3 retreat to the head stock 2 side to release the chucking of the wheel W, while the cylinder 10 is driven to shrink back the piston rod 10a and slide the door body 7 along a guide rail 8 in the opening direction. Thus, the door body 7 retreats and an opening part of a splash cover 6 is fully opened.
