CALIBRATION OF DAMPING WATER SUPPLY QUANTITY OF OFFSET PRINTING PRESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control the supply amt. of damping water while accurately perform mechanical adjustment and to prevent printing trouble by comparing the measured value of quantity of damping water with the set value of water supply quantity and adjusting a damping water supply device so that these values become the relation of a linear equation. SOLUTION: The quantity of damping water on the printing plate of an offset printing press and the measured value is compared with the set value of water supply quantity and the damping water supply device of the printing press is adjusted so that both values become the relation of a linear equation. That is, the quantity of damping water of a plate 1 corresponding to a damping water dial is measured by a moisture meter 11 to be compared with the set value by a comparison circuit and, if calibration by mechanical adjustment is necessary, the nips between the plate 1 and rollers 2-5 are adjusted by the nip adjusting device of a water supply apparatus and the nips between the plate 1 and ink rollers 2, 6-10 are adjusted by an ink roller adjusting device.
