Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To improve exhaust gas characteristics by estimating the temperature of a catalyst means at restart after the stop state of an engine is continued for a prescribed term and changing a control parameter after restart based on the estimated catalyst temperature. CONSTITUTION: At the ignition switch on time (S11), it is judged whether just after on or not (S14), at the just after on time, a timer tSOSK is stopped and a three dimensional catalyst temperature TCAT is estimated by a table is response to the count value of the timer tSOAK and SOAK time (S15). Then, it is judged whether it is within the prescribed term after start or not (S16), at the time within the prescribed term, it is judged whether the value of the timer tSOAK is within the prescribed range (S17).
