Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the step difference between a plurality of cold reserving panel arranged on the inner surface of a storage tank. SOLUTION: In a step-difference measuring apparatus, a running truck 3 is arranged in the vicinity of a cold reserving panel 2, a winch 4 moves the running truck 3 up and down and right and left on the surface of the cold reserving panel 2, a laser displacement gage 5 is attached to the running truck 3 so as to measure the relative step difference between the cold reserving panels, a printing device 6 is attached to the running truck 3 so as to set color distinctions in correspondence with the measured values of the step difference by the laser displacement gage 5 and to print the values on the cold reserving panels 2. With the truck being in running from the lower side to the upper side on the surface of the cold reserving panel, the step difference is measured with the laser displacement gage at the respective step-difference measuring position (indicated by O), and the result is printed on the spot with the printing device 6.
