Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a softening and finishing agent which contains a mixture of quaternary ammonium salts having ester groups in the molecule as an essential component and gives a variety of fibers sufficient softening properties as well as antistatic properties. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing (A) a mixture of quaternary ammonium salts which are represented by the formula [R and R are each a straight chain 11-22C hydrocarbon; Q and Q are each a specific linking group bearing ester as an essential component; A and A are each a 1-3C alkylene and R and R are each a 1-3C (hydroxy)alkyl] so that the weight ratio of the saturated hydrocarbon to the unsaturatedhydrocarbon may be 100/0-32/68 with (B) a 12-32C (un)saturated alcohol or mixture thereof at a weight ratio of 100/10-100/100 or 100/17-100/90, preferably 100/30-100/80.
